February to April is the prime golf season on Sabah’s west coast, with February the driest month of the year (around 78mm of rain over roughly seven rainy days). Temperatures stay consistent year-round at 24 to 33°C, with humidity high throughout. October brings the heaviest rain to the west coast (around 387mm), so golfers generally avoid that window. Afternoon downpours are common outside the driest months but rarely rule out a full round.

The airport sits around 15 minutes from Kota Kinabalu’s city centre, and most golf courses are within 20 to 45 minutes of the airport, with a few further-flung options (Keningau, Kudat) requiring longer drives.
